Acting Officers Lunch

What more could you want, a lovely sunny Sunday morning and a very pleasant event to look forward to this afternoon, the now traditional annual lunch organised by the Provincial Wardens to get the outgoing team together for the last time with their wives, partners and friends, the location, idyllic Garstang Masonic Hall which is situated on the banks of a huge canal basin complete with its many different types of boats and barges, peaceful and tranquil. As guests arrived from all over the Province they charged their glasses and made their way to the outside seating for a good old chinwag (not sure if that’s a real word) in the fresh air before being called back inside to take up their allotted places for the dinner.

You could feel the wonderful warm atmosphere in the room as we were served up a first class meal of choice by the friendly and very efficient staff, no formal speeches on this occasion however Keith did say a few kind words to thank everyone for attending and of course mentioned the hard work put in by the wardens to organise the event, we weren’t however treated to one of his famous joke!!

Chilling Out

At the close of the meal the Provincial JW, W.Bro.Vick Norris was delighted to present the PGM’s Lady, June with a lovely bouquet as thanks for all her patience, understanding and kindness in allowing Keith to attend so many meetings of which we the members of the Mark Degree are really appreciative.

All too soon the lunch came to its conclusion and it was time to say our goodbyes to the friends we know and to those whom we had only just met, off we went to all parts of the county which was still bathed in lovely sunshine, summer has arrived at last, let’s hope it stays for a few weeks this year, but don’t hold your breath.

As I always say here’s looking forward to our next meeting in the Happy and Friendly Mark Degree
